This is gonna be a little bit different article talking about fashion.
First of all, because there are tons of article around about the same issue.
Second, because this is the 40nagers trends, which means it is about the trends that a 40nagers should pick among all the ones proposed on the runways, and which ones should discard instead, and immediately forget about.
I’ll start telling you the source of most of the pics you will see here (if not all). They are from my “Guru site about fashion trends” that is whowhatwear. Otherwise the source will be specified under the pic 😉
Let’s start from a trend that is going to be literally viral, and potentially dangerous for us 40nagers: Animal Prints.
Animal Prints: is this ok for 40nagers?
I’ll be frank: I am not the greatest fan of animal prints. Indeed I would barely wear the leopard pattern, and not wear at all the python one.
Perhaps the only one that I would take in consideration, given my armochromatic spectrum, is the black and white zebra one.
Now, if you dont wanna look like a wannabe teen, or a “Roarr” woman (excuse my super direct expression), avoid the whole animal print look at all costs!
Animal prints are cool on a 40nagers if taken at little dosages. What I mean, if you are really craving for wearing a leopard or a zebra print, restrict this pattern to accessories like shoes, belt, sunglasses, big bracelets, foulard or bags, or clothes like midi large skirts, or long coats (if you are tall). And possibly combine them with an all-in-one-color-look.
40nagers Tip: try the animal print coat on a pair of jeans 😉
Brown brown brown!
Easiest Trend to adopt from this Winter Season, just pick the shade of brown that is in your armochromatic palette, and go with it. As total look, or just one piece, brown is the most classic and chic color to wear 😉
40nagers Tip: try it with fluo or pastel color (fucsia or baby blue will be perfect!).
Slouchy boots
This is a trend to add to the cuissards that are still in the top 10 trends to have in the wardrobe.
What they are? Well, look at the pics, and you will know 😀
Perfect on tight pants, try them with a maxi-pull and a pair of tight jeans or leggings (and yes, leggings are back too!). Wear them under a midi dress, and enjoy the classy touch!
40nagers Tip: Another trend to wear this Season is the cowboy boots (oh yeah, 80’s, welcome back!).
Feel Like a Princess with a Cascade of Crystals!
This is another dangerous trend for a 40nager, but like in the case of animal prints remember the number one rule: little doses never hurt!
40nagers Tip: So, use crystals for accessories only, or on a long dress for a special dinner o party 😉
Layers on Layers
This is one of my favourite trends. I love layering clothes, and very often I wear light or transparent dresses on a jumpsuit, or top and leggings, and then a jacket.
Anyway, this is one of the trends that every body shape can wear, being careful on the length or quantity of layers (otherwise the shortening or enlarging effects are around the corner).
Among those seen on the runways, I simply adore the huge scarf blocked by a belt on a trench or coat, and I think I will soon try it out!
And what is the one you like the most?
Plaid check
This is another trend started last winter (when I did the mistake of not buying a cute asymmetric dress in this pattern 😥 ), and like other patterns, the rule is: be careful and use it with parsimony, if you are a 40nagers.
This mean: yes to scarfs or shirts. I love the combo long skirt (better if asymmetric) with white shirt and denim jacket.
40nagers Tip: if you want the winning combo, combine it to slouchy boots.
Finally, go for a mix with flowers, if you can master the mix and match tecnique (or find some suggestions on how to do it here ).

And I would say: thanks God I dont have to struggle with brown color only, this winter!

40nagers Fashion Trends A/I 2018-2019
Questo sarà un articolo sui Fashion Trends che ci aspettano per questo Autunno/Inverno (ed alcuni li stiamo già sfoggiando in questi giorni) leggermente diverso da quelli che potete trovare in giro sul web.
Innanzitutto, perché ci sono tantissimi articoli che parlano esattamente dello stesso topic, e quindi mi andava di fare qualcosa di diverso, di più adatto a noi. Quindi, per ogni trend visto sulle passerelle, vi darò il mio punto di vista, e i miei consigli su come una 40nager dovrebbe interpretarli.
Iniziamo da un trend che è diventato letteralmente virale, riempiendo tutte le vetrine dei negozi (e che a me, devo dirvi, ha già un po’ stufato).
Animal Prints: Sono Adatti ad Una 40nagers?
Sinceramente: non sono propriamente una fan di questo tipo di pattern. Infatti, non prendo in considerazione il maculato, e nemmeno alla lontana andrei in giro con indosso un capo pitonato.
Probabilmente l’unico che mi ispira, data anche la mia stagione armocromatica, è lo zebrato in bianco e nero.
Ora, se non volete sembrare una di quelle che vogliono rimanere teenagers anche a 50 anni, oppure un tipo “aggressive” (e scusatemi se sono diretta), evitate assolutamente un look fatto unicamente di animal print. Da bruciare senza farli passare dal via anche i leggings e le calze maculate (a meno che non siate Olivia Palermo).
Questo significa che non possiamo permettercelo? Affatto, ma come 40nagers questo è un trend che va dosato. Insomma, se proprio non potete farne a meno e vi piace da morì’, destinate il maculato o lo zebrato ad accessori come scarpe (senza plateau, per cortesia, bene decolletè o mocassini), cinture, occhiali, bracciali, foulards o borse. In alternativa, optate per pezzi di abbigliamento come gonne midi o lunghe e larghe, oppure lunghi cappotti. E possibilmente abbinatelo ad un look monocolore (nero, powder blu o beige).
Il suggerimento di 40nagers: prova il cappotto animalier su di un paio di jeans 😉
Voglia di cioccolato!
Che sia al latte, fondente o cosparso di logo, non vi è dubbio: questo è l’anno del marrone!
Sicuramente uno dei trends più facili da vestire e da gestire di questa stagione, il nostro unico consiglio è: scegli la tonalità più in armonia con la tua stagione armocromatica e divertiti. Osa un total look in questo colore oppure un unico accessorio. In ogni caso, non ha importanza: il marrone è il colore più classico e chic da indossare.
Il suggerimento di 40nagers: provalo in abbinamento al powder blu. Non te ne pentirai.
Stivali Morbidi
Questo trend affianca l’altro che resiste dall’anno scorso, ovvero i cuissards, gli stivali alti sopra il ginocchio.
Cosa sono? Ebbene, basta guardare le figure e lo capirai subito 😉
Questi stivali sono perfetti sopra pantaloni stretti, o sotto gonne midi morbide o a matita. Anche sui leggings (altro ritorno di quest’anno).
Il suggerimento di 40nagers: se hai un debole per gli stivali, allora procurati anche un paio di stivali da cowboy. Anch’essi sono un altro leitmotiv di questa stagione!
Come una Principessa!
Questo è un altro trend da prendere con le pinze, se sei una 40nager. Come sempre adottate il seguente mantra: dosi piccole non fanno male a nessuno!
E tanto meno a noi. Quindi, se anche dentro di voi soggiorna una piccola Paris Hilton, questo sarà il vostro trend preferito: cristalli, piccoli o grandi, basta che brillino come diamanti!
Il suggerimento di 40nagers: Usa i cristalli solo per gli accessori, e fa che siano l’unico pezzo brillante. Osa con un abito lungo con cristalli solo per una cena speciale in un locale esclusivo , od un party (ed è richiesto nel dress code)
Strati su Strati
Questo è sicuramente uno dei miei trend preferiti, di gran lunga meno inflazionato dell’animalier. Personalmente utilizzo spesso l’abbigliamento a strati, e spesso indosso abiti semi- trasparenti su di una tuta aderente, o pantaloni skinny con top.
In ogni caso, questo è un trend che ogni 40nager può adottare, qualsiasi sia la forma del suo corpo. Basta stare attenti alla lunghezza e alla quantità di strati (evitando effetti strani come l’accorciamento o allargamento della figura)
Il suggerimento di 40nagers: tra gli outfits visti sulle passerelle copia quello con la lunga sciarpa indossata sul cappotto e bloccata da una cintura in vita. Semplice e di effetto!
Plaid check
Un altro dei trends che fanno parte di quelli iniziati un anno fa (quando feci l’errore di non comprare un abitino asimmetrico in questa fantasia), è il tartan.
Come per le altre fantasie, vale sempre il solito principio: usalo con parsimonia, se sei una 40nagers, e lascia le gonnelline scozzesi al di sopra del ginocchio o i leggings nello stesso pattern alle quattordicenni 😉
Ovvero, ok sciarpe o camicie in questa fantasia: personalmente amo la combinazione di una gonna lunga e morbida (ma anche a tubino) in questa fantasia con una maglia sottile bianca e un giubbino di jeans.
Il suggerimento di 40nagers: vuoi la combinazione vincente? Abbina la gonna tartan agli stivali morbidi. E se sei una master nel mix e match, abbina il tartan alla fantasia fiori (se non hai idea di come fare un mix e match, puoi leggere qui alcuni consigli).

E per fortuna, aggiungo io! E penso questo sia lo stesso pensiero espresso dalle donne Inverno come me.
Cosa dire di questo trend? Beh, nulla, se non: provatelo in abbinamento al marrone. Ve l’ho già detto? Pazienza. Ma fatelo 😀
